| The
trainers of “Elite Pro Wrestling Training,” were in Cincinnati
this past weekend for a very special three-day training seminar. All
three of the EPWT Trainers were on hand as Sport Publishing LLC and
EPWT are in collaboration to publish the most extensive pro wrestling
training manual and companion DVD in the history of the sport. The
book will be written by noted sports writer Alex Marvez, as seen
through the eyes of EPWT’s Harley Race, Ricky “The Dragon”
Steamboat, and Les Thatcher. The book and DVD will also include a
round table discussion with the threesome, and sidebars throughout the
book with “Training Stories, and Stories from the Road.”

Event:
Jersey Championship Wrestling @ Garfield Boys & Girls Club, Garfield
NJ
Date:
Sunday, March 28th -
see pictures and descriptions below
In a "Fight to the Finish Battle Royal" it was
announced that the final two men would go to just a pin or submission, with
Les Thatcher as the special referee. The contest would ultimately come down
to Ken Shamrock's student "The One True Shooter" Vale Tudo, a
veteran of Pancrase Shootfighting, against WWF Hall of Famer "The
Unpredictable Johnny Rodz' student, 8 year veteran of the Eastcoast
independent wrestling circuit, Damian Dragon who was accompanied to the ring
by his manager and real life wife Foxxy Dreams. After a series of strikes
and shoot holds, Vale Tudo would eventually score the victory via submission
on Damian Dragon with a spinning knee bar.
* There was another special moment after the match, as Tudo
got on the microphone and all the wrestlers who had been in the battle royal
were still around the ring. Tudo asked all the wrestlers in the back to come
out and pay homage to Thatcher, someone who has done so much for the
business. Thatcher would be presented with a trophy, which Chris Candido
brought out to the ring. Thatcher would say that JCW was great and this was
a pleasant surprise. This was considered a great independent wrestling
moment. Thatcher is a true legend in the business and it was a very nice
moment that the promotion took the time to honor what he has done for the
business.
Below
are pictures from the match between Vale Tudo and Damian Dragon with Les
Thatcher as the referee.
